Playing Catch up
So the last time I posted I had news to share but I don't think I ever got to that point. Well the cats out of the bag as the time has come and gone. WE WERE Pregnant! haha Yes my precious little teensy tiny boy is here and we are so in love. I will post about it next but I will get there in time. So here Kevin and I were working and going to school just doing the married life thing and trying to get Kevin through school as quick as he could. He wanted OUT! So I continued to work full time and do school online while Kevin went to school full time and worked every chance he could. He worked so much more than I ever wanted him to. I felt like we never got to see each other. As the school year ended he started to job search because we had a baby on the way in February and we Knew we didn't want me working. Kevin had a few options that we knew of. He was interning for an investment company in Idaho Falls and we could take that route or he looked into some other jobs he looked into. One of them being DEALERSOCKET. A company some of his family has worked for and really enjoyed it and they recruit heavily from BYU-I and BYU. So as he explained to me if he got this job he would be traveling 2-3 weeks out of the month. If you know me I was not impressed, or thrilled so I really was against it. As time kept creeping we continued to pray and seek for possible job opportunities. We had pretty much ruled DEALERSOCKET out or I had because I just wasn't going to have my family be a part it just wasn't an option to me. They offered to fly Kevin out to California for a second interview and we had both decided he shouldn't waste their time or ours. As it got closer I had a change of heart and I guess Kevin did too. We thought you know what why not just go and get some more interview experience and if they offered anything we had decided that we were going to set some boundaries. See this company can place you anywhere and I only had a few places I'd be willing to go. Colorado, Utah, Idaho and Georgia where we had family and when he was traveling I could spend time with. So Kevin packed up his bag and was gone for two days! Those were the loneliest days of my life and it was then we both decided we didn't want him traveling at all. When Kevin returned home we thought that they would not offer him a job because of the placements we wanted and they could not Guarantee to place us there or in any place for that matter. So I had just kind of written them out of my mind but I guess Kevin was still wondering about them and thinking something would come through and they would place us if we were to have that job. The days came and went and they called and offered Kevin a job in California at their home office with NO TRAVELING, they opened up a new department and that's where he would work. I have never bawled my eyes out so hard. I knew that this was a huge blessing and we needed to go but I just did not want to think about it. For those of you who know me, I am very content in my small towns. I don't need a lot and to be honest I hate busy, dirty places and I feel like every city meets those standards. I had to face it that's where the Lord would have us be for then. They let Kevin start sooner because our baby situation and wanted us there Jan.6th. IT was less than 30 days away and so we hurried and gave our apartment complex our 30 day notice and let me job know I would be leaving and Kevin that he would be leaving for his as well. From there it really was all a blur.Finding housing over the internet and phone is not desire-able, but we had no other option it was all a mess and took weeks and weeks of research. California has so many stupid things they charge for like your parking spot where you live and if you have two cars you have to pay for each. Then you have your washing and drying you pay for, and so many other things I wish I could even remember and being like you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!? Luckily we found a little place that is a commute to Kevin's work but it is not Overly priced. There are a lot of church members. It is quiet and everyone is so kind and nice. We were very blessed in finding this spot to live. So Kevin kept busy at school and work and so did I. We were packing up on a Friday and Kevin's graduation was that night. We both worked that Thursday as out last day and got off at noon. That Thursday afternoon Kevins parents and his brother and sister in law came and helped to load the big furniture. The next morning that Friday we finished packing and loading everything up. It really was a challenge and it was FREEZING COLD and snowing. Then we started cleaning around 2 that noon. Kevin had to be at the school at 4 for graduation and we are lucky we got it all done around 5. My landlord came and did the walk through and after I hurried to get ready. Kevins parents picked me up a little after 5 and we headed to our seats. The graduation ceremony really was great and I couldn't help but feel so emotional at how hard Kevin had worked to get there. He got home from his mission and in a little less than 2 years he graduated. He never skipped a semester Where BYU-I has 4 semesters in a year but you usually just go to 2 and have 2 off. He chose to go year round. It was here and he was done and we were moving on to the next step of our life! Graduation ended at around 10 and we went to our apartment to make one last walk through grab a few things that wouldnt fit in the U-box put it in the Rodeo and headed to Idaho Falls to spend the night at KEvin's brothers house. That Saturday morning we got up and hit the road. Kevin's parents came to help move and for his graduation so they drove one of our cars while we took the other. The weather was horrible and there were many many cars off of the road. We had bad weather up until we got to St. George. After that we stopped to get gas and people were out detailing cars in shorts. It was so weird. We went on to Vegas after that and stayed at his brother Bryan's house. Then our last stretch we went to Bakersfield. Stayed with his parents for a day and then took our flights to Colorado. WE had planned on spending christmas in Colorado with my family but it was difficult trying to make it all work and we had bumps along the way. WE had a wonderful week at home and were refueled. WE headed back to LA where Kevins parents picked us up and headed to Tustin. We used U-hauls U-boxs so our stuff was already in Tustin. When we got off our flight the U-haul people had called us to tell us they couldn't find our stuff. STRESSFUL. By the time we made it to Tustin they had found them. Kevin and his dad headed to pick them up and in the mean time there was like 10 missionaries Kevin had called to help us unpack it all. How grateful I am to all those sisters and elders I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time and they didn't make me lift a box! We were all moved in that night and things have been good. I will update more in the next posts but here are some pictures in the mean time!!
